The Process

Vehicle Armouring Process

All vehicles undergoing armouring in the ArmourIT Africa armouring process starts off with a vehicle check in sheet. This is the first step in the ArmourIT Africa quality control process to ensure the vehicle is returned to the customer in the same state as it was received.

After the inspection has been signed off the vehicle undergoes stripping of the interior. Each part gets labelled and packaged for storage in our workshop. Interior parts receive a dedicated bin location for safe keeping during the armouring process until the vehicle is
ready for assembly.

All our armouring solutions conform to EN 1063 and EN 1522 International Standards

All our transparent armour are ISO 9000 certified and duly tested at independent laboratories, such as H.P. WHITE (USA) and BESSUCHAMT ULM (Germany) through our armouring partner.

Transparent armour is manufactured in our armouring partner’s production unit. Designed with a multi-layer PVB – PC configuration, for maximum resistance and reduced weight. The inner layer of the transparent armour is coated with a spall shield, to prevent any spalling, shrapnel or impact fragments which can cause injury to passengers.

B6 level of armouring includes a range of additional standard options e.g. overlap system, suspension upgrade, and run flat inserts
